Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data BallyhooTech Limited ("we", "us") collects through our products — the Ballyhoo app (iOS and Android), the Ballyhoo Command Centre for estate agents, and macERP — why we collect it, and the rights you have. We are the data controller for this data under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
BallyhooTech Limited, registered in England and Wales (company no. 17372593), Annandale, Orchard Lane, Hassocks, West Sussex BN6 8QF. Contact: info@ballyhootech.com.
What we collect and why
| Data | Who | Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Name, email address, mobile number | Ballyhoo buyers | To keep your saved homes, viewings and alerts attached to you across devices and reinstalls; to confirm viewings with the agent; to send a verification code to your email | Performance of a contract; your consent for the verification email |
| Device location (while the app is in use) | Ballyhoo buyers | To show property signs and listings near you, "Near Me" price trends, and to resolve the building you point at. Sent to our server only for these requests; not stored as a location history | Your consent (the system location permission) |
| Camera | Ballyhoo buyers | To display augmented-reality property signs. Camera frames are processed on the device by Apple ARKit or Google ARCore and are never sent to our servers. Where you allow precise positioning, ARCore's Geospatial API sends camera-derived visual features (not photographs) to Google to determine your position and heading — see Google's privacy policy | Your consent (the system camera permission) |
| Saved properties, search filters, viewing requests | Ballyhoo buyers | To provide the service and pass your viewing request to the listing agent | Performance of a contract |
| Push notification token | Ballyhoo buyers and agents | To notify you of viewing confirmations, matches and messages. Delivered via Apple Push Notification service or Firebase Cloud Messaging | Your consent (the system notification permission) |
| Name, email, phone, agency and branch | Estate agents (Command Centre, agent portal) | Account management, listing management, viewing scheduling, billing | Performance of a contract |
| Company and property records, income, expenses, documents you upload | macERP users | To provide the business-management service you subscribe to | Performance of a contract |
| Billing details | Agencies, macERP subscribers | Subscription payments, processed by Stripe. We never see or store card numbers | Performance of a contract; legal obligation (accounting records) |
| Technical logs (IP address, request time, app version) | All users | Security, abuse prevention and fault diagnosis; kept for a short period | Legitimate interests |
What we do not do
We do not sell personal data, show advertising, or use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs. We do not build profiles for marketing. Sold-price information shown in Ballyhoo comes from public HM Land Registry data (Contains HM Land Registry data © Crown copyright and database right; licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0) and from sales recorded by agents on Ballyhoo, and is not personal data about you.
Who we share data with
Service providers who process data on our instructions: Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), Apple and Google (push notifications, maps and augmented-reality positioning), and our hosting provider in the UK/EU. Your viewing request, including your name and contact details, is shared with the estate agent whose property you asked to view, so that they can arrange it. We disclose data to authorities only where the law requires.
International transfers
Our servers are in the UK/EU. Some providers (Apple, Google, Stripe, Resend) may process data in the United States under the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep data
Buyer accounts and their saved homes and viewings: while you use the app and for 24 months after your last activity, then deleted. Agent and macERP accounts: for the life of the subscription and for the period required for accounting records (six years). Technical logs: up to 90 days. You can ask us to delete your data sooner.
Your rights
You may ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time (for example by turning off location, camera or notifications in your device settings). Email info@ballyhootech.com; we respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Deleting your account
To delete your Ballyhoo profile and everything attached to it, use Delete my profile in the app, or email info@ballyhootech.com from the address on your profile. Deletion is completed within 30 days.

Our products are intended for adults (18+) and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
